External Funding includes current funding opportunities from Lottery distributors, Central Government and Charitable Trusts. Gloucestershire County Council compiles, on a regular basis, a bulletin listing some of the UK external funding opportunities opened to Gloucestershire organisations. Gloucestershire County Council has an External Funding Adviser whose key roles are to provide support to the Council and its partners in identifying bidding opportunities and provide advice on bids. GLOUCESTERSHIRE GATEWAY TRUST

Gloucestershire Gateway Trust: a ground-breaking partnership between local communities and a motorway services business. Over the next 20 years, the Gloucestershire Gateway Trust will plough an estimated £10m income generated by the new M5 Gloucester Services into sustainable community projects through its local charity partners.

GHCT is a charity which raises funds to help places of Christian worship in Gloucestershire of all denominations with repairs and improvements to the fabric of the buildings and their contents, as well as their surrounding churchyards. The Summerfield Charitable Trust awards an annual grant to GHCT as it does not currently accept appeals from Churches.

It encourages manufacturers and retailers to donate their high quality surplus for distribution to good causes and is the only organisation coordinating UK-wide in-kind giving. Their network of voluntary organisations represents every kind of cause – family welfare, sickness and disability, homelessness, emergency relief, environment, ethnic support and community groups. It is free for voluntary organisations to join In Kind Direct’s network, and they will receive access to an online catalogue of available goods.
